Captain Popoff processes video you upload or authorise us to record, turns it into clips, and posts those clips to accounts you connect. This page says what we keep, for how long, and who else sees it. The service is operated from the United Kingdom and UK GDPR applies.
What we store
- Your email address and name, for sign-in and for messages about your account.
- The videos you upload or we record for you, their transcripts and the signals computed from them, and the clips made from them.
- Access tokens for the social accounts you connect. They are sealed per account with a key that is kept outside the database.
- What you post through the service and the view counts the platforms report for it.
- Payment details are held by Stripe. We keep your customer and subscription identifiers, not your card.
How long
- Source videos and the intermediate files made from them are deleted 30 days after processing.
- Rendered clips, posts and view counts stay until you delete the clip or the workspace.
- When you delete your workspace, every file and record in it is removed within minutes. A request to delete your account is completed within 30 days.
Who else processes it
Transcription and highlight scoring run on our own servers. The top candidate moments, with a few sampled frames and the transcript around them, are sent to a third-party processor that checks and titles them. Rendered clips are sent to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram when you post. Stripe handles payments. Each of these is bound by a processing agreement.
Your rights
You can export your clips at any time from the app and delete your workspace yourself. To ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, write to privacy@captainpopoff.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
We set one session cookie so you stay signed in, and one that remembers which workspace you were in. There is no advertising tracking.
